Who Am I?
In a world that is forever changing right before our eyes with social media, TV, all the dos and don’ts of trying to fit in and keep up. A person can almost lose one’s self in the middle of it all.
A big question becomes who I am? Yes, there comes a time when you will have to pause from the rat race and take a closer look and who you are, what you’re doing and where you are going.
I pondered that question for myself a bit. I realized that God had given me many gifts and talents, but for a moment, nothing seemed to work. I begin to find myself trying to do everything the way society said it should be done to make something work. Well, I found out real quick that you must do all things the way Father God says. It is He who created you for greatness. He already knows who you are and your purpose.
Some people define who they are by the DNA of their earthly Father and Mother only; and will live out the same lifestyle as their parents good or bad. In reality, the person that you are and the DNA you have run deeper through your veins than that.
God created the heavens and the earth. Likewise, He created you. You have the DNA of our heavenly Father. Therefore, you are in His likeness. Who are you? You are a friend of the highest God. An ambassador, a disciple. With the Father a joint heir, a royal priesthood. A Born again believer in Jesus Christ. And that is just a tidbit of who you are. The world will make a notion of pulling you in and have you live by their standards. Remember….
Jesus loves you “For God so loved the world: He gave His one and only Son So that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
You are God’s creation. “I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well”. Psalms 139:14
You are the apple of His eye: The Israelites were the apple of God’s eye. Even with all of their rebellious and stiff-necked ways, they were still considered the apple of His eye. God cares for His sons and daughters. He protects because He is a loving Father. He will never leave you nor forsake you. To honestly know who you are; read and the word of God.
Remember His promises to you. Spend time praying and talking to Him. Worship Him tell God how great He is. Sit quietly and listen to His response to you. Take steps to obey what He said to you. He will remind you of who you are. God will remind you of who you were created to be.
As you look at the image with the words I AM… YOU fill in the blank. I AM______________________. Okay, I will start first. I am the blessed and highly favored by the Lord. Now, you do it! and believe it.
